Arthur Gordon was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to North East NJ in 1966. He served in the U.S. Army as Chief Legal Clerk for the Judge Advocate of the 28th Infantry Division and received an honorable discharge.
Arthur majored in marketing at the City College of New York and additionally attended the University of Delaware Institute where he earned a degree in organizational management.
He has spent most of his career in the fashion industry, representing the nation's largest department stores, a chain of ladies clothing stores and for twenty five years was a partner in a chain of seven family fashion stores recognized nationally for its steady growth, uniqueness and innovation. Arthur's expertise in merchandising, marketing, sales, management and training all contributed to this growth.
Arthur served as President, Chairman of the Board and Director of Retail affairs for the Ridgewood, New Jersey Chamber of Commerce. In those roles he added vitality to the business community as well as local service organizations.
In 1997 joined the Morris County Chamber of Commerce as Director of Marketing and Sales. In this position he provided for the constant flow of new members and offered mentoring and guidance to a diverse group of businesses.
Arthur has been recognized by the New Jersey State Senate as having established a model to emulate and as having set a standard of excellence. The Chosen Board of Freeholders of Morris County, New Jersey also resolved that Arthur worked tirelessly to maximize the opportunities for businesses and their employees to prosper.
